If you’re not parked in a TS by 6-7pm in Florida you’re either

- parking at the customer
- parking at a rest area

Been my experience anyway.

Wildwood gets full pretty quick because it’s not that big and it’s directly at a major split between I75 and the turnpike. If you’re coming in late you stop at the Petro Reddick.

South of here on 75 isn’t much worth stopping at in my opinion... gets even worse once you get south of Tampa. Luckily there isn’t too much truck traffic on this coast. A good chunk of the guys running south of here are ending their trip in the Tampa area, or their taking the turnpike, or their cutting across I4.

Once I’m empty today and south of Tampa down by Bradenton the truck traffic pretty much disappears...

Yeah 75 Chrome Shop across the street puts on their little shin dig every year.

Purple Nurple and I wouldn’t be welcomed to that so we don’t park over there

Some large rides around here though so they class up the joint a little bit.

That's awesome!!! Not many are willing to give back to their communities like you are.

 

What a spot... nothing like having a freight train rattle your sleeper every half hour.

 

There's just something about those little bunks and the older iron I really like. I'd stick the 2 extra tanks in the shop, do the necessary maintenance, shine her up and go to work.
That would look sharp with a pot behind it.

They already call me Mayor lol. Our city surveyor is a real ### hole. He thinks he is an Engineer and cost the city lots of money do to his lack of knowledge.... Example: he barged in and calculated the concrete for a recent job here in town. 11 yards was taken back and poured over the hill because he has no idea how to figure concrete but thinks he is the greatest. He waste lots of money and it's starting to be noticed.

I try to be a good guy and help everyone when possible, but can be a force to be reckoned with if pushed the wrong way. Many of us are that way I'm sure.
Anyway, this surveyor guy had the city workers come on our property and cut a BIG mulberry tree because it was like 6 feet from a fence they were building. As we all know not all Mulberry trees produce so we protected it. Berries big as your thumb I'm telling ya, every year! Anyway I come in off the road and my wife tells me what has happened, everyone knew I loved that tree!! It took me back to my childhood, Mulberries with fresh cream skimmed off the top of the milk from the night before and fresh milk on my Post Toasties... Post Toasties was Cornflake cereal for you younger folks.
Needless to say I was furious!! 2 days later the city workers are finishing a sidewalk across from our driveway, I walk out to say hello to them as they are good men. During this time here comes Mr. Know it all that ordered our tree cut. I flagged him down in a stern voice and the sight of him sent me into a rage. He is a taller man than I am and thinks his co workers are scared of him I guess. Anyway as soon as he stepped out I started on him, part of my exact words to him was.... You SOB I ought to cut your #### throat and watch you bleed out like a hog!! You had no reason or permission on our property doing anything let alone cutting our tree!! Keep in mind my wife works for the city as well and the maintenance dept supervisor was in the office while I was chewing his ###. The supervisor carries a 2 way radio on a loud speaker, my wife said everyone heard his radio blurt out... Somebody needs to get over here!!! Danny is about to get his ### whooped!! My wife said everyone in the offices was like "Oh ####"!!! So since this time I got the nickname of Mayor on the street we live on lol.
