Unfortunate for the guy jumping off bridge RIP I have seen deer do the same thing in Duluth, scared and leaping over bridge rail
mjd4277, Lepton1, magoo68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Speed limit too high through there for visibility, even in POV I hang back until I get east out on the flats.

That’s why I don’t drive nights in winter [especially pre-dawn hours and/or during winter precipitation events] any more than I absolutely must. Probably happened in the middle of a brief snow squall which are common there.

I wonder what that guy was thinking about 50ft into his fall.
austinmike Thanks this. -
It must’ve been at the bridge right east of the rest areas, that’s the only one that tall in that area. If so, the first guy probably got squirrelly after coming around that corner where the entrance to the EB rest area is.Lepton1 Thanks this.

So you got everyone slip sliding over there huh......
If it was the UPS driver that jumped over the bridge- Don't look like 100 feet- Maybe 20 feet where the tractor sat.
Firefighter Jumped too according to reports........
Everyone Jumpin' ......... Get them radios on, This coulda been avoided completely -
People see flashing lights reflecting in the dark, many seem to automatically assume everything will be off on the side of the road and never give consideration to the possibility the road ahead could be completely blocked or even just partially blocked.
Snailexpress Thanks this. -
The WB bridge ends past where the EB bridge starts, and it’s steep down to the river. My guess is the initial drop wasn’t 100ft but he probably bounced and rolled down to the bottom. I can’t imagine being in that situation where all you know is that you want out of there before you get hit. I feel bad for the families of all involved especially at this time of year.

That’s the thing about the week prior to big holidays ... lots of people pushing the limits a bit too hard trying to get home ASAP. Yes. Going to be an unhappy holiday season for some.
