92 Ford LTL 9000 speedometer not working.

    I drive a 92 Ford LTL9000 with a 3406c Cat motor. The speedometer doesn’t work and when it does the highest it will get is 15mph. Anyone have any idea on what could be wrong with it?

    Likely the little gear where speedo cable attaches at transmission. You could disconnect cable at transmission and spin cable with drill to eliminate the possibility of speedometer itself being broken,

    I replaced mine a couple years back, and the speedometer was an easy plug-and-play. If it’s not that, maybe a broken wire.
