Recently in orientation they told new hires over 70%. But that could be false.
Grand Prarrie gives out that info I guess. Not sure where else it would be posted. -
What kind of rate/mile are you guys seeing from Landstar recently????
-
depends on the area you are in...
there is no "real" number to base anything on.rates vary from as low as .65 for l.t.l. going as far as 2,000 miles, some at 5.00 even 12.00 per mile but only going 50 to 100 miles for trailer load.there is a load on the board today from
the north east to southern cal at .68 per mile all inclusive weighting 44,000 lbs...one going from montreal to miami at 1.56 per mile 42,000lbs,
friday there was a load from toronto to portland at 2.27 per mile 14,000lbs
denver co to all points east at 1.56 per mile 42,000lb
there is all kinds of freights at all kinds of rates... -
About $1.40 for flat. But availability is low. Very low.
-
Is that $1.40 for a BCO or just anybody?
-
Poptop, what is the lowest rate/mile you have seen out there? Distance and everything.
-
That was a quick guesstimate of the board at that time of day. Looking at the average of loads by revenue only.
It changes by the minute and location. And that was to BCO's.
You can pick and choose over $2.00 a mile but I've found it harder to do for the past week. I don't like tarping for less than $100 dollars so that rules out a lot of loads at this time of year.
Also I don't like hauling over #40,000 POUNDS. And I stay clear of mountains.
And if there is no FSC I don't haul it.
Hope that helps. Just my .02 cents worth. -
Stay and dream for loads for $2 mile, those loads are few, they are long gone before you pick the phone and call .Best of this magic $2 mile loads? only 65% its for bco and after fuel and tolls and landstar fees and so many other expensives are subtract realisticly how much its for owner(bco)? Nobody can tell but its on range of less than .50 cpm.Nobody mention here truck payment, maintenance, reg, ifta and so many other expensives. Most loads pays trush and if you remove all your spending and make that 2nd grade math, see how much its your real pay check.Be honest with your self and other, tell people reality, not good storys, because people pays their bills with reality, not with dreams.Landstar make money from any load, even if pays few cpm but that rule does not apply for BCO.To many to be said here.

Make sure when you talk to a Landstar BCO about money,he knows what he is talking about or he does not any connection with agents like families member agents or he knows that 2nd grade math.Lots of owner operators either don't know math or they know it but they don't tell the real numbers.
