IIRC the throttle valve was used for something to do with EGR or regens. Its not used to control RPM.

 

Yes I know that.
It’s to maintain good positive EGR flow in to the intake manifold.
Just screwing around a little bit...
But the question was about if diesels have throttle valves or not ? Lol
The throttle valve on a gasser really doesn’t control the rpm either.
It helps controls the air fuel mixture by limiting air when needed.
The throttle position sensor either mounted on the throttle valve or on throttle pedal like a diesel controls the RPM.

 

Build some. Then throw in some China head studs and EBay choo choo bois and it’ll be the LS of big rigs.

 

Go ask Kevin Rutherford unless You already did!!! Better keep the prototype under your hat. But once fabricated and ready for Market I’d give him a call
