Be easy to make $65k+ in the patch if it ever comes back. Scab outfit I worked for 10 years back was paying drivers $325/day flat rate. Most of the guys either just got their licenses or had very little experience.

everybody is doin more wells in 2019 than they did in 2018, so itll be balls to the wall again.

 

Just be aware, if you plan to move to Manitoba, be prepared to re-test for your license. Manitoba has the strictest testing standards in the country for Class 1/AZ drivers and if you get your license in Ontario, they will demand you retest before allowing you to move and work here.

No, he'll want one for sure. They save lives just having them on. Many drivers in Canada still run them and will send out weather and traffic warnings. Mine is always on Channel 19 and several times I've avoided severe issues because I've had it on and the on-coming lanes warned me of stuff happening ahead.

Funny thing is, Ontario is looking to make them illegal, but drivers use them the most out of any other province there, and use it properly. Especially on the 17 between Sudbury and Nipigon.

That's what I always run in Canada is VHF. It gets longer range and it's more reliable in the Rocky Mountains, but because I run the United States and I always have I have a custom tune CB radio with overpowered Wilson 2000. I'm not saying he shouldn't have one he asked a question and all I said was most companies won't put CDs in trucks anymore if they don't have them. It's my opinion all trucks should have CDs and Driver should be formally trained on how to use them properly. I dabbled with it when I used to off-road so I know how to tune antennas to a radio

And see that's my exact point you make over a hundred grand a year doing specialized Trucking not General Freight, not Reaper, and not General Flat deck. You do specialized oilfield work which I imagine comes with a lot of hourly pay as well.
