    Too many people involved.
Everybody wants to stick their hands in the cookie jar. I was sort of hoping the convoy system would be the answer, but their loads all suck balls. Oh well....

I have taken a load 350 miles back to Maine from New Jersey because of lies about unload times. Told me 7 am, when I got there they told me 3 pm so I left and went back to maine

Really? You took it back to Maine and the shipper obediently unloaded you and more importantly you got paid too?
Please tell me the truth, because I was itching too many times to do the same too and never found enough bull's balls to go.

I didnt get paid and don’t care. They thought I was going to sit there like a good boy and take it after they lied to me and the broker and the buyer( container yard) Nope. My truck my rules.
The cost of fuel and tolls was worth every penny.

If all you had to do was to drop the container, I would have done the same. If I did not, I'd not only be without balls but such a #####.

It was a load of lumber on a flatbed that was getting shoved into a container. When I was a company driver I went to another container yard with a load of lumber from New Hampshire also going to New Jersey. Got there at 7 and the guy told me he couldn’t unload me till 4 so I called the dispatcher and they told me to drop the trailer at their yard 10 miles away and grab an empty.
You should have seen the look on that guys face when I told him I was leaving.
“ but but we have to have it loaded by midnight?!??!”
Lol. Not my problem. See ya loser....
honestly that episode probably affected my attitude towards those places before I even got my own truck. They just think you’re going to sit there.

After reading through.I guess I understand why all the ones that complain about and how a lot of guys treat there customers which if you’re loading a brokers load the brokers are your customers,I understand why you don’t have your own freight and are left with what you can find on a load board

Thank you! thank you, everyone for all of your input.

And after 40 replys we still don't have an answer to why broker's call the driver's 4, 5 or more times and don't bother in calling the shippers and receivers to check to see if pick-up and delivery is ok for the driver's to load and unload.

The customer isn't always right and we can always refuse service to any of them. It's a shame that a bad broker not doing their job will have you treating all brokers as if they are idiots by pestering them with stupid questions if they actually did their job to confirm everything. Because the one time you dont you'll get burnt.

    6wheeler and pete1 Thank this.
