So I'm sitting here reading about people #####ing and moaning about having to wait and not getting paid, wrong appointments, measly detention pay, etc. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, but shouldn't all these details be ironed out before signing the ratecon? Don't you guys have prices for accessorials like tonu and detention? If you don't, then you DESERVE to be sheared. Sorry for being a prick, but that's the hard truth.
p608 Thanks this. -
That's what I was thinking.
You're not rocking the world, but even at $50 an hour for 6 hours is $300 without the truck rolling and burning fuel.
I realize it delays you and the truck isn't making money you could make elsewhere, but that's a better alternative than burning fuel dragging a loaded truck 350 miles and paying tolls. -
I guess I understand a point you’re trying to make.Myself when I started I did use brokers, but I also personally knew a couple of guys that were brokers from other companies we worked together at.But when I did use brokers I wasn’t familiar with if I didn’t like the way things went with them I just didn’t do work with them anymore but while I was under there load I treated them professionally I didn’t really care how they acted I can only account for myself. But what I have found if your phone ringing bothers you because your customers are checking on there freight or offering you business maybe you’re in the wrong business maybe getting a company job where all your doing is driving is more suited for you.truckfam, rollin coal and Rubber duck kw Thank this.

That’s easy. They’re a bunch of Sally’s. They don’t want to “ bother” their customer with pesky questions so they just avoid the whole situation.
Ever have one say “but I sent an email!!”
Total avoidance behavior.
Bottom line is the customer is more important to a broker than the carrier. They can always find another truck.6wheeler Thanks this. -

I booked a load this morning to take me up to the Kent Washington area.
So I called the broker on a load he had posted early this morning. The load showed pick up was in a city 65 miles away from where really was.
The description of the product was two forklifts LOL.
It wasn't, it was food snacks...
He said the pickup time was 10 a.m. I told him I couldn't get there until 11 a.m. he said that was fine.
He called me back and told me the pickup time was really 8 p.m. tonight. However, he said he spoke with the shipper, they said for me to show up at 11 and they would work me right in, get me out of here within 30 minutes LOL.
I'm still here 3 hours later. It's all right though, I don't even need to be at the consignee in the morning until 8:30. And it's 200 miles away, I think I can make that work
Besides, I got a fair rate, and really just needed something to do cuz I was so freaking bored being home for 5 days around the holiday. LOL -
...I'm trying to process this, but I'm failing...
