Hell now I dont even go into the lounges to get bills. Send my students in to drop them off or pick them up as I stay in the truck lol. Last time I walked into 1 with bunch of guys sitting around whining bout no miles 1 looked at me said " are you getting fd on miles too"? I looked at him said no had 3700 last week and on pace for 3500 this week. Grabbed bills as he was just looking at me and I turned and walked out lol. Its best if I just stay out of the driver whine session's lol

So darn true. If you’re a runner, dispatch will run you. They know you. If you aren’t getting 3k miles a week, it’s your fault.
Keep that left door shut.Last edited: Dec 22, 2018
BullDozer-( and Steelersjunkie Thank this. -
I hear that.

I've met several drivers during my time at Millis that I always saw at terminals, and always complaining about lack of miles and runs. Well sir, if I know you are a loser, it's a guarantee that your dispatcher does as well.BullDozer-( and Farmer54 Thank this.

We’re a different breed man. We’re hated. Folks don’t understand without us, they wouldn’t have Christmas. S’okay, I’ll still keep delivering your goods while you cuss me. It’s what we do.MIT, Steelersjunkie and BullDozer-( Thank this.

I just don't understand the resident terminal drivers. If I'm Dave Millis, or if I'm Reid, or if I'm a dispatcher, I'm shaving the fat. And I'm not going to be nice about it. Opie ran me the way I asked to be run. I don't feel like being stressed or exhausted every single day. I hit 3k maybe 3 times at Millis. But I hit 2800 or 2900 every week. I was predictable, I was reliable, and I never caused problems. At least none that I know of. There are drivers pouring into the company, man. Get rid of the tards. I don't get it. There is one guy specifically who's name I can't remember. Doesn't matter if I could because I wouldn't blow his spot up publicly. Always saw him at a terminal sitting on his butt. Always complaining. I told him a long time ago that I was going O/O at some point. He laughed and said I'd never make it out on my own. Freight is too slow, costs are too high, blah blah blah. I want to see that loser again. Go ahead and sit in the terminal and tell me Millis sucks. Millis got me where I am, and you're an idiot. If I see that dude again I'm going to drag him by his neck to my truck and rub his nose on the pretty blue star. Then knock him the f out.Last edited: Dec 23, 2018

One makes of his situation what he wants. Complaining gets you nowhere. An old man on my daddy’s farm used to say “ain’t nuttin to it but to do it”.
Mr Otis passed away about 15 years ago. I miss him.Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
This post makes me wish I met Mr Otis. I have a lot of stories about how I've been waylaid due to my screwups or Landstar broker/customer screwups. Man up, move on. As you stated, life is what you make it. Grow a sack and move forward. Otherwise the complaints you have are completely your fault.Farmer54 Thanks this.
