Mine was downgraded immediately. For fingerprints.

Med card has to be turned in. EVERY time.

    Okay all.

I must have gotten the nice guy at the DMV today, he did me a real solid.

Went and got my physical, they gave me my 2 year card. Took it to the DMV and the gentleman there looked up my DLN and confirmed I had been downgraded .

However, he sent my info over to Harrisburg PA asking for reinstatement and 28 minutes later I had my CDL A back and was on my way...

Needless to say I was speechless.

Well, the thing is it varies state to state. From what I've gathered Pennsylvania is actually a bit more strict on the deadline that most other states. Where I know there are definitely states that give you at least a 30 day grace period AFTER expiration to get your med cert taken care of.

    Grumppy Thanks this.

In this racket , the LAST place you want to ask for CDL legal issues is another driver. I been driving 25 years and I find about 90% of driver opinions and facts to be useless. If it is an equipment issue, yes other drivers know stuff, often a lot but anything to do with regulations or legalities ...forget it. Go to a book or your DMV

In TN, the driver is responsible for sending the new info to DMV. They will send you a notice about 30 days before it expires telling you that it will expire on such and such date and if they dont have the new info by that date, your license will be downgraded.

It shouldn't suck at all. It's a common mistake, just remember in the future.

    I just got my letter.

90 days before it expires. If not turned in on said date. Immediate downgrade and $40 reinstate.
