In over 30 yrs I've never had a scale master holler on the CB and tell me to go on, even with a open sign. If the small word is illuminated "OPEN" roll in even if your bobtail. If the big word is illuminated "CLOSED" mash your motor......

Empty log trucks are allowed to bypass some scales in MT, not sure if they can do it at all of them. I know they don’t have to pull into the one at Clearwater Jct when empty.
-
Really? I thought all commercial vehicles had to stop at all scales.Grubby, NoBigHurry, jamespmack and 9 others Thank this.

In Cali they have lanes for empty trucks, but you still gotta go through.
Bean Jr., cke, 4mer trucker and 3 others Thank this. -
A few scales in Nc you use the left lane of the scale to bypass the scale... on I-40 and I26
cke and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
The 71 southbound scale on 71 in Kentucky has a set of pre scales that determine if you weigh or bypass. The bypass lane would get full and a slow truck would be holding up a while line, I’d run a set of tires off which automatically trips you to the scale. When they seen you empty they’d green light you. I could pass 10 trucks sometimes.
Grubby, Bean Jr., NoBigHurry and 9 others Thank this. -
SMH. The bypass lane in a weigh station is not the same thing as completely bypassing the weigh station.
