Agreed. And America was a cleaner, brighter place as well. (No sarcasm).
In 1960 a man could go to work full-time, get married, and in a few years he & his wife could have saved enough for a down payment on a house. Whereupon she stayed home to raise their children.
What has happened since is purely enemy action.snowman_w900, Rideandrepair and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
That was you talking $&#% from behind the curtains in the sleeper at the Carnesville Petro last Tuesday night, wasn’t it?

I tried one with the chrome straight cord didn't care for it because it was too long as well. I took loop fasteners designed for wire runs around the house and used existing screws and a retractable mike hanger to keep things neat. I now use those same loops to a existing screw or radio bracket knobs and run mike cord thru it to keep stress off the mike cord where it comes out of the microphone to radio connector. Recently I plucked a General Lee radio out of the trash bin a driver had tossed. I told him to try a new mike when he described his problem. The cord was messed up right where it exits the connector. He chose to toss it. I put a new mike on it and put it in my pick up, works fine.
