An you cross strap the ends?
Cross straps on the ends and just back the over the top straps off one click. Give the straps a 1/2 twist to cut vibration because they are not as tight.
Also block and wedge the ends a bit higher if you can.

Here's what we are dealing with. As I was driving to this truck stop I got to thinking that this didn't start happening until I loosened the rear and put some folded straps under the feet to make all the feet touch the deck. I'm thinking that made it take any movement it had for the trailer to flex out and cause it to break the hooks off. I just took those out from under the rear feet and left the gap under the front feet but tightened the straps back to how they were before I put something under the rear feet. 20181223_225718.jpg

The hopper weighs 15k and the stuff under weights 7k and that's not enough to take the bow out of the trailer.

It’s a rigid structural piece. It’s supposed to be loaded in a way that allows it to be secured YET allow the trailer to flex. Going all the way down the load will only wear out your straps.

Are the rear feet off the deck? If so, put your straps at the front feet and middle feet only. Next time on and rigid structural piece, put the dunnage on the ends and secure the ends only.

Front feet are off. And cant go any higher at legal limit as is. But I will do that next time. If i haul another one I'll have it loaded up front instead of middle rearward.

Any way I load it the middle feet will be on the highest part of the hump.

If the front feet are off the deck, put the securement at the middle and rear feet.

Should I have straps over the front for the 10 foot rule but have them "tight"

If you are worried about the front, cinch down the front, then the middle.

It’s a structural piece. The rules state that you have the securement FOR every 10 ft, not AT.

I'm just following along here, but 3 straps would meet the requirements then, from the middle back? Not that I'd run it that way, but it would be "legal"?
