I'll take a stab.
"I don't like the idea of trucks being governed, since I like to be in control, but I like not having to think how fast I'm going and I know I won't get speeding tickets" LOL

I drove one Fast Truck. The Owner claims she had it up to 130MPH. I topped the it out at 95, but only once. I was passing along line of 65 MPH Trucks in a 70 MPH zone with a line of 4 wheelers on my tail. Once I got around I did back her down. I did not make it a habbit of going faster than the speed limit, well not that fast over it. Ohio no faster than 55, rest I may been 5 over.
I would only stop for Fuel and to releive the bladder. Found I could get a 65oz Mug fill it with a drink and when it was done, my 10 hours was up. Sorry that was when it was 10/8 Driving rules. Get a Book on cassette and before you know it your down the road a several hundred miles.
If the law going to get you, they will get you. I drove a truck topped off at 72, even bobtailed, lost speed going up hills. I was going up the mountain in NC on I 77. NC DMV Pulled me over said I was doing 77 up the Mountain. Year later same Officer siad I was doing 65 in a 55, when I was doing 54. Georgia State Patrol stated I was doing 70mph when I was doing 50... But he had an attitude that night as if someone stole his dounut... -

My God! What is wrong with you? Are you that desperate for miles that you would risk your own life and everyone else's on the road doing 95? You said running 65 is stupid? Consider the source, speed limits are there for a reason. Stay off my road with your 95 mph.:smt076

I paced a truck back in 76 (before the speed limitors came into force) heading across the Nullabor Plains between Adelaide and Perth in Australia for a short distance after he passed me - I was clocking him at 185 km/h - 160km/h = 100mp/h and he was still pulling away from me. On the same run I was picked up and put in the East bound lane by a truck going at some unknown rate of knots - the bloke following me said that all four wheeels of my vehicle left the road and this was a medium size family sedan.
My brother was a Police officer in New South Wales at a town called Adaminiby in the Snowy Mountains. A car was heading one way and 2 trucks the other - the first truck picked up the station wagon, which was pulling a Caravan (trailer) and put it directly in the path of the 2nd truck - I saw the remains of the car on a visit - it was the height of the engine - a young family wiped out including a 3 month old baby - the caravan was'nt touched.
65mp/h is fast enough! -
Hey all. Am goin to take my CDL this coming week in Carlisle PA. Have put about 6000 miles on truck with trainer from Houston TX to Minneapolis MN to Keasbee NJ and back to New Orleans LA right back up to Pitts PA and with the Schneider trucks governed to 63 everyone and their mother passes me. Thats ok with me cause with pulling a hazmatload I really don't like goin faster than that. Speedin is for the young. Just a little reminder to those of you that can go faster , when we're in the left lane cause construction demands it and we're doin the speed limit , don't get mad at me on the CB Just take a big breath and relax and do the speed and we'll all get off those jersey barriers happier. Your only other option would be to shut up and push when me when my baby is maxed out at 63 and I'm thinkin thats not so good an idea with about 50,000 lbs of hazmat between us. Ya'll be happy ,be safe , and drive with goin home to your loved ones at the end of each run as your objective. P.S. Oh, and it is true about the same trucks passin you 2 or 3 times in a hundred mile stretch, kinda makes you feel like you have a buddy that you'll see a little later down the road again LOL
