A linehaul driver at our dock has the same setup on his Dodge....burnt up his transmission playing in the snow and since he voided his warranty with all his modifications it cost him a pretty penny to have it rebuilt in Texas. He claims it's the same transmission they use in half-ton trucks with a little upgraded internals....I don't know. I do know Chrysler's reputation for automatic transmissions is pi$$ poor whether it's in a truck or a sedan. My $.02.

@Lysdexis Now others could answer better. But would that have helped to load upside down on lumber front and rear. Only two points of contact instead of one? Plus lower center of gravity?
-
Elf on the Shelf wasn’t getting good enough surveillance from some of his hiding spots. Decided to go U.S. Army Commando style.
-
His load has 6 legs. There’s a crown in the trailer. If the load didn’t have the middle legs, he wouldn’t have any issues. Or if it would have to be heavy enough to flatten the crown. But as it sits, he has to get the center feet off the deck by putting dunnage on the ends OR by securing the front and center, which will pull the rear feet of the load from off the deck.
Make sense? Crowned flexing deck vs straight rigid structural piece. -
It's funny you mentioned that. The other day the Elf on the Shelf was trying to hijack a Norfolk Southern coal train....

You need the accessory kit that comes complete with bandanas and Colt 45 Vaqueros, LOL.

Yes I had not seen the pic when I posted that. -
Yeah, and instead of a rain deer they has a pitbull with a spiked collar.
-
But if you put each end on blocks the middle wouldn't touch. If it is ridged enough to span that far. That way if possible I would load upside down. But I know alot for shippers say "we always load it like this" -
Will a .357 Mag Blackhawk do?
