And in what world does that statistic reflect anything relating to E-Logs ? Statistics are very often used to explain something , but stats are very flexible when relating them to something because usually simply by omitting one key factor can drastically change the results . That is to say if I want a certain result I can compile certain desired stats and work my way back to the desired result. Now if you don't think an entity with a specific agenda will do that , then you might want to reevaluate your level of naivete , Just sayin !

Could it be that deaths are up because of Twitter?
Let’s say 56 million Americans each receive 12 stupid Tweets each day.
And truck drivers drive a lot of the time and these nonsense Tweets are distracting them and killing them.

Put the phone where you can't reach it. Silence the alerts when you're driving. Facebook is just as bad, and I don't use either of those.

Only numbers I've seen so far was from 2016. It stated, without a doubt, company's that adopted elog early had higher numbers of wrecks and fatalities.
    Numbers don't lie.

The only way to even make a proposition that ELD had any positive impact on safety would be a significant decrease of CMV accident involvement as compared to prior years.
What if, which would not surprise me, there is not any huge change in the statistics or actually the number of accidents increased? Embarrassment, because it would mean that the lack of strict enforcement of some stupid HOS rules prior to ELD was helping the roads to be safer. On the other hand, I am not even so sure that the HOS are actually enforced now any better with ELDs than before with paper logs. Do these DOT cops at scales even know what they should be looking for these days other than the nice shiny tablets?
