Peterbilt 579 CB Install

You may just need to take it out. Get the dimensions and search Amazon for something that will work.

 

It has one just sounds like it had seen it's better days. It pops and cracks all the time. Thought it might be a standard size guess I will take it out as recommended. Thanks for replying

Mine has survived well past 200k of oilfield and tanker work.

This speaker, plus the tiny KL203 70watt amp, and standard 4W radio will all run together from factory 15A binding posts in overhead.

This cleans out so much noise that you won’t believe it.

(No, your Galaxy, Stryker, whatever, isn’t a substitute. They’ll benefit as much).

On a good night I can run radio wide open. Voices on top of voices. Coast-to-Coast Skip.

Radio + Amp + DSP Speaker = $400

No $400 CB or Export will touch it.

Oh, but you say your radio pushes 250w? Won’t move the meter any farther than this baby. Jump to 600w for that.

And those big wiring headaches for those radios and amps. Fire Hazard. CPU/ECM interference. Etc. This rig runs all the gear off of single power harness from factory 15A circuit.

So if you’re starting from scratch, use this route. Upgrade later.

The SS 579 brackets will be similar to these New Model Cascadia ones we did last year.

An RG8X co-phase coaxial cable harness should be easy enough to use to connect a pair of 7’ Skipshooters with these brackets.

It’ll definitely beat any of the factory mounts.
