Yeah I heard the same things from them. Why that most fail. They did not tell about how yanked up their communication is and how jacked up the ordeal is to get a flatbed truck when they have a couple ratty old beat up freightshakers available and have 20 + guys needing a truck. They also lied to me from the get go about other issues. Sent us to Altus OK to pick up trucks to bring back stacked flatbed trailers so they would have trucks too lease. Then we get there and they don't have stacked trailers, but dispatch us to go get loads of drywall then tell us we can't haul them because we haven't leased trucks yet and aren't co employees. Ended up tarping and pulling this crap back for almost nothing. Going there was the biggest mistake I ever made in trucking.

So when did this little disaster of yours happen? Can't say how the flatbed division works, but reefer ops is certainly a different story.

I just got a call from Prime. I'm scheduled to start with Swift at their Idaho School soon but I was wondering about Pirme, Inc. Does anyone know if they have a terminal near Portland, Or?
Thanks,
JNB -
Its not really a terminal... but in the Portland area (Wilsonville to be exact) we have one of our Floral division locations... Its in a office park, has a couple spots for dropping trailers and a couple loading dock doors for the refrigerated flowers.
Sunday night I delivered in Portland and they had me drop my trailer at one of our customers in Cornelius. But I have in the past had to drop my empty there in Portland or pick one up there. -
Well, I can't speak for the flatbed division - I pull reefer, and it's nothing like that on my side. I know they've been having a lot of trouble with getting loads over there - but as far as I know that's been the state of biz throughout the flatbed world for the last year since the construction industry took a nose-dive.
Hope you communicated with management about the way you were treated... that's certainly not the way that Prime has indicated to me that they want to have business done. -
Thanks U2, I've read back most of your posts to when you started with them. Good job. I just sent them my W-2's for a company that wouldn't verify my employment. I'm waiting to hear back from them to learn more. I think I'm supposed to start in Refer's. I live in Beaverton, where is your home base?
-
U2 and I are both dispatched off of the same board in Springfield MO. Doesn't much matter where you are "based" at with Prime - our freight is assigned from a common pool that is company-wide. Priority is based on when you go empty, how close you are to a load, and whether you are running team or solo.jnb1110 Thanks this.
