Morse code is no longer required to get your ticket.
-
i thought you had to use morse to get general class
-
Not anymore. FCC got rid of it beginning of last year, or possibly the end of 07, can't remember exactly which.
-
sounds good im pretty good with electronics so ill probably study up on the regs and try to take at least tech and general to save go juice
-
The excuse of code is gone no and the theory is a bit tougher on the general exam but not to bad its the extra that keeps whipping my tail. One of these days i will study hard enough to get that extra 50 mhz.
-
Finally. Things begin to make sense. I always thought that the morse was like having to study physics to pass an english exam. I do understand it's latent purpose, however, that's no longer viable.

Im about to put an export radio in my dodge truck. Are the hams up in the northeast that bad? Because i do alot of work up there and i really dont wanna make anyone mad i just want the watts because you cant get a word in on edgewise on 81 but i really am wanting to get my ham ticket.
-
If you are only planning on using the Export on the CB bands then you may as well forget getting the ticket because having a ticket does not make it legal to use an export on the cb bands.
-
get real! like anyone would ever know! has nothing to do with getting a ham license! just stay on the cb channels.
