@jamespmack
I am running a new 48' Fontaine spread. The most I've put on it is 45.5k lbs, and it handled that no problems. The rail is actually very nice. It takes a little getting used to with the way it's designed. Mine has the pop up chain hooks as well.
Have you been to look at one?
I'll be heading up to Taylor this afternoon to load, then back down to the house. If you feel up for it, and have the time and inclination, I can meet you somewhere along I75 on my way home.
You should really see one of these in person before making a decision.

Man yesterday a I was in Toledo in pickup. What time you think? I do wanna see one up close. If not today, Ill just take a ride down your way over a weekend. I like not having a sales man over my shoulder. Do you have or use their "turtles"? I have only used chain tiedowns and once cleaned up a retinour that got rearended. Lost both coils because the j hook things pulled out of the floor. I didnt like that.whoopNride, Zeviander, ShooterK2 and 15 others Thank this. -
SC does that from time to time. Last winter there was a big truck off the right hand shoulder into the trees on I-85 NB at the 6mm or so, for about 2-3 weeks before it vanished. I guess if it ain't spilling anything or in the way, they get to it when they get to it.whoopNride, Zeviander, ShooterK2 and 18 others Thank this.

It was December 1988, I was rolling south with Boston, Mass in the rear view. Stopped at a Truckstop in the Keystone for a hot cup a Joe in this old KT powered Shaker. Shoved a quarter in a pay phone to see what our dispatcher had to say. It was a big surprise to hear my wife had went into labor..... this couldn't be!!!! But it was, needless to say those twin 6" stacks were barking as I sucked the blacktop up behind me rolling hard to the Hillbilly. Today makes 30 yrs ago my life changed, it's not been easy or smooth, but I wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world! My little girl is now 30, no more kids in their 20's now lol. Y'all be safe out there.
Just so y'all know..... that's a 77 Shaker with a later model hood.tony97905, whoopNride, TripleSix and 32 others Thank this. -
