Yah you shouldn't pick on swifties. I'm there because they hired me out of driving school. I was young and received a few tickets before I knew I was going to become a Driver. I graduated high school and most of my college prep peers went to college. I got married and didn't have enough money for bills and college. Not all swifties are foreign born non english speaking dummies....... well i take back the dummies part of that back :biggrin_25525: I'm just glad I have a job in this screwed up economy, and I know if I don't hit anything then my job should be pretty safe unless the whole company goes under then I would become a lumper and if you had trouble getting in a dock I could back it up for ya :)

Day cabs are worth a lot,More than sleepers, according to regional fleets, and are harder to come by I'm told.

They might just be trading in their old trucks for new ones you never know. Just because swift is geting rid of trucks doesnt automatically mean their in trouble.

They are not in any trouble.....they just bought out PTL so Jerry can't be struggling too bad.
Heads up Swifties and soon to be Swifties......

Swift is going to paperless logs very soon :biggrin_25516:
along with a dozen other recent changes and upcoming changes. I'll start a new thread about Swift one of these days with the changes, have to turn in my truck first.

Well I for one respect your opinion but I am almost positive they get at least .50 cents a mile. I mean how else are they going to pay for all those damaged fences? :biggrin_25525:

They have 18,000 + tractors so 2,000 is not a big chunk of the fleet , likely sell off trade in that # if not more yearly.

Do not see why TRACY are so picky on the LM truck they work on sewer suckers all the time.

Swift had paperless logs before, and drivers threw a fit about it since it forces our 14 to start just to move our trucks around inside the terminal. They pulled them after the received all the negative feedback, but have mentioned since then that if it weren't for the drivers that consistently receive log violations for their logs not matching up with things such as toll receipts and check in/out with terminals and such, then there wouldn't be a problem. :biggrin_25512:

I haven't heard that we were going paperless, but honestly, I couldn't care either way. Paperless would be fine for me, as it would then be one less thing I have to scan.
