Just graduated last friday 3/6/09. School was everything I expected. Actually a little more laid back then I intially expected. I had a great teacher Dale. Great disposition, doesn't get all uptight if you make a mistake. If you go I hope you get him. School is hectic, no time for screwing off. Which is good. Makes the time go by faster. I wish they would invest for driver simulator for after hours and Sundays. Over all school was great. Small class only 4 with 2 trucks. Start evolution 1 sometime this week. Will update.

Good luck. Without trying to discourage you, this is a very bad time to try and get started. I've been sitting for five days waiting on a load.

I had Dale when I went through too. Great guy and definite credit to the school. Best of luck to you.

Where are you sitting at? The house or a yard.

I started in Black River Falls, but they told me to move to Marshfield... So they don't have to pay layover I assume.

I just talked to my recruiter and my orientation does not start till May 4th. I just graduated from T.D.D.S. truck driving school last Friday and take my CDL test this Friday. Does that actually mean your hired if you pass all the test that you have to go thru at Roehl? Can you tell me a little more on the EVO's and orientation?

u are a conditional hire... until final road test,,, you are on your way to evo1, you do 10-14 days with a trainer, mostly day driving, going through the motions in the day of a truck driver, then you get a couple days off (if u want them) then evo2 same but more intense, you do more of the paperwork, and by the end the trainer is just a passenger, then you take a road test and written test to make sure u didnt forget everything, then assigned a fleet mgr, a tractor and a preplan home for 2-3 days... then you are evo 3 for # 6 weeks... during evo 3 you get mileage pay or base HP pay if a veteran... u start out with 300 mile loads then by the 3rd run u will start getting 1200 milers......... today i got one from Fayetteville ARK to Connecticut... woohoo 1400 miler... then on the way to pickup they changed it to a relay in the Bensalem drop yard... I think to get me a return load over the weekend ending in Marshfield (APU ) install MOnday...(one can hope) but... now I get to take the Penn turnpike 76 through the mountains along the bottom of Penn... then up and into Philly.... by Friday nite @550 miles a day, weather permitting... your adventure is just beginning
