    Biggest pita was cutting two zip ties (oops) to make the electrical wires stretch far enough so my plugs would connect...

    Otherwise I’d have to find a three prong female and male 6” wire somewhere...

    Think I’m gonna call it a weekend in Richmond Hill...

    On our current truck 300 gallons, but once I get the other truck put together we will be at 125.

    300 gallons allows us to get to better fuel prices without much planning no farther than we usually get away from home.

    They can cover the $.35-.40 cpg difference. But keep in mind that the overwhelming vast majority of so-called drivers take the path of least resistance on everything. The trucking company will tell them to fuel at Loves of PFJ. You can have 2 truck stops right across from each other, and one of them will say, "Pop's Travel Center", have a full service restaurant and a gigantic parking lot. The parking lot will be clean and spotless.
    Directly across the street will be a Loves, serving up ChesterChicken and Subway, crappy parkinglot and the smell of sewage. Dark-30 everyone will cram into the Loves, and bische about the parking and the smell and the food. Does it even make sense? It doesn't to me.

    Years ago, we were running blades from Corpus to LimonCO. Grabbed a parking spot on the north side of Lubbock (there is a curfew around Lubbock). Next morning, I dropped my trailer and topped off my fuel. The others decided to fuel at the Petro in Amarillo. Forget about elogs, because elogs are irrelevant when you're pulling big loads. You're racing the sun. You have so many hours that you can move. You have so few places to stop. Yes, I know that Limon is not far from LubbockTX. But why are you fueling up in the middle of your day?

    See, these guys ran up to the Petro in Amarillo, dropped the trailers on the shoulder of the road, and bobtailed in to fuel. But why not avoid all that circus and fuel up at the beginning of your day when you're not racing the sun?

    "Well Six, I get my shower point at ______."

    And these same guys get pissed when we (my crew) started lapping the field, crying foul and complaining to management. Do you not understand how much time you lose being big chain truck stop happy? If I start my day every day by topping off the fuel tanks at the place I am and you fuel in the middle of the day, there's no way in hell you are going to keep pace. By the time you see me again, it is because I am about to lap the field. Tell me about your fuel economy, and I will tell you about the time saved. Tell me about your shower points and I will tell you about my paycheck.

    @SAR

    This corn is still in the field near my house. It has only dropped below 30deg a couple of nights so far. It belongs to the largest farmer in the county. We have had a lot of rain and they still have soybeans in the field too. Is it still good? How long can it stay in the field?

    Edit to add: I am not a farmer, but I do know where to go to Ask The Experts..
