I think that more folks will realize that the CB has a legitimate means of possibly keeping EVERYTHING from being wiped out......

The CB is almost silent, until the traffic stops. Then it's 45 minutes of "hey what's going on" and "which lane do we need to be in" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... I think the helicopter parents of the new drivers told them they might be kidnapped if they even heard someone speak on the CB. Google maps and Waze never told me which lane to be in. I use my CB mostly to ask why child molestors always park at the fuel pumps to waddle inside and get 7 Big Macs?

Waze is a smartphone app where other Waze users can report traffic problems, cops shooting radar, and show routes for road blockages through cemetaries, people's backyards, etc.

Yes, well the silence is a recent development, back in the day there was significantly more chatter on it ....and yes , a fair abundance of nonsense-drug dealing, sexual propositioning etc... but there were more drivers operating CB's.....now....you cant tell the truck that just passed you that his lights arent working, or that a wheel is smoking etc......for Goodness sake! For gooooodness sake......

Not to mention before 911 there was channel 9 and all troopers had radios.

Besides how you gonna get that beer in Texarkana to those thirsty folks in Atlanta without your cb?

Most of that movie was built in Arkansas and Georgia. There are a number of websites that maintain a sort of a current situation history then and now. Im not exactly sure where in our state but it would be west of J'Boro roughly where you can get up and run a little bit. Some of the movie scenes are still there. The bridge was burned in GA.

It was a nice little set of films in it's time. I believe the Texarkarna block scene where they loaded the movie beer is still there as well. (Elsewhere)

I love the CB. It bothers me that my entenna has interference and problems so I cannot be heard by everyone. I am going to get that fixed at a CB shop in the next 2 weeks. CBs are helpful and also very amusing.

You can definitely get by in trucking these days without a CB. But while it's not the invaluable go-to communication device of years gone by, the CB is still an important tool to have with you on the road.
