I was going to say the heartwood looked like black walnut. Some of the priciest and most beautiful wood in the world. I'd love to have every piece of furniture made out of it.

Time to get through Savannah before the traffic... and then play some Creedence Clearwater Revival as we boogie through the overgrowth of SC on some two lane!

In the past I’ve hauled a few loads of coal to places that used it for filtration at sewer treatment plants. I’m not a science major, but I get the impression coal in and of itself is a useful tool; the dirty part of it is the explosive dust and the burning of it smogging up the air.

That is a hell of a lot of anything to be tipping over in a river tho, I expect you’re right about obstruction.

Yep and 10,000 of them can’t generate as much reliable power as one little power plant.

I know this isn’t the political section and don’t want to turn it into that but I’ll tell you what’s funny. The liberals that want this green energy don’t want to look at them.

That’s funny, a friends dad owner the family farm, the adjoining farm was connected in the woods. Both farms had been in the family’s for years so no one knew exactly where the property line in the woods was. The other farm sold a few years ago and there was a big black walnut standing around the property line. Jerry went back and cut it just in case. He called a tree buyer and they said they’d give him a couple thousand for it or he could send it in and see what it made in board feet, they told him if it made veneer grade it was worth a lot. Of course with Jerry’s luck it made veneer grade. I don’t remember the amount but that was a valuable tree.
