We have a young person here who is interested in what we do and wanting to make a go of it, and for no reason at all you come in and trash his thread with this nonsense. Seems like some sourpuss does this on every single noob thread.... drives me crazy.
I know a LOT of people get into trucking thinking it is all fairy tales and dollar signs, and a LOT of people fail, but that doesn’t mean we need to bash every ambitious noob who comes on here.
OP, best of luck to you my friend. I got into trucking for the very reason you mentioned. I was just sick of the day to day blah... In trucking you will meet new people every day and face new challenges all the time. If you learn from them and don’t let them defeat you, then you will succeed. If you really want to challenge yourself I recommend flatbedding. Check out the flatbed forum on this site and see all the cool loads those guys get to work with every day.austinmike, Bluedew, tinytim and 9 others Thank this. -
Op if you've got any questions or need any advice, Im always open to help a fellow Tx guy.
Being you're up in the Dallas area you won't have an issue finding a good job.austinmike, rustyswife, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this. -

Hey Guys I am still going to detail the steps I took as for as getting in to trucking. I just wanted to give a quick update on my job hunt for some local/semi local work. So far I have put in about 30-40 applications in the last week.
I have a interview for two so far:
GFS(Gordon Food Service) -12/27/18
Fastenal -12/31/18
I will update you guys to let you know how it went.PoleCrusher, rowekmr, localguy65 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also sorry for any questions or comments I miss. I will get to them as soon as I can.

Just suits me at the moment. Also I don't mind some physical labor that comes with the local jobs. I dont necessarily need to be home every day. I just want to be home a couple times out of the week. Later on in my career I'll switch to OTR as it would be nice to visit a couple places with the wife.PoleCrusher Thanks this.

You really should delete this entire thread. For several reasons. I’ll give you 2.
#1 You don’t know the meaning of constructive discharge until you’ve been starved out of 3,4, or 5 trucking jobs because some ### wipe in the office doesn’t like you. And you’ll play hell proving that, when it does happen.
#2 My company reads your post, learns who you are. Every application you have with us will be filed away in a basement. I think they refer to that as Asset Protection.
