Here we go again...Another shut down planned.

If you heard it at the truckstop lunch it is definitely true!

 

It’s not going to do a darn thing... deregulation put us where we are now... and we have no power anymore.... states have enacted “at will” meaning we the employee no longer matter... until we change the laws to benefit and protect the drivers and owner operators this is all just stupid....the corporations and companies: have all the power...

 

so why dont they go straight to white house n make show out there instead forcing same ####show with zero positive outcome year after year.

 

I have no idea: look what the new tax law did to our industry.. I used to be able as a company driver deduct my per diem and other not reimbursable expenses; now, I can’t: yes the standard deductions went up, but, I’m still looking at more than $1500 extra that I am going to have to pay as a company driver......... and , I bet a majority of truckers out here don’t give rats butt until they do their taxes this year...

 

For the record, yes company drivers got screwed royally but LLC owners which is pretty much every O.O got a pretty nice tax break.

I don't like Trump or Republicans but the tax bill did at least fix the LLC issue that needed fixed for a long time.. It ####ed up a lot of other stuff but they at least got the LLC issue fixed.

All these truckers who are a little grumpy about laws are going on strike. 4000 of them to be exact. The funny thing is that they think people outside of trucking really care.

 

Its starting to get a bit of press the Facebook group is 9000 now.

Thousands of truckers in a Facebook group called 'Black Smoke Matters' are planning a one-day nationwide strike this April

 

I want to see you block highways to.

That will assure one thing...your going to piss off a lot of people who have no say in such things.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Movements work better if you get people to understand why your protesting. The average person knows nothing about the trucking industry or the ongoing battles over ELD, HOS, etc.
