Hey @IluvCATS
I just read a review posted two weeks ago about Ray’s cb shop by the Petro. It said he had a guy checking vehicles so give him a call tomorrow morning and ask. I bought coax, mounts, and an antenna from Ray last summer. Very Fair prices.
My CB has no range

Alright I’ll call them tomorrow. I’m in Carlisle PA now. I could go there Friday and get a new antenna and coax like what u did.
shogun Thanks this. -
Immediately behind the McDonald’s across from the Petro on the frontage road is a gravel parking lot. It has room for 15-20 trucks. You can park there and walk right across into his shop.
I’m headed to Walnut Ridge Arkansas and Memphis but I will be way ahead of you. Too bad, we could get some cash advances and go to the greyhound racetrack.snowman_w900 and IluvCATS Thank this. -
Found Rays phone number and address so that’s where I’ll go.
snowman_w900 and shogun Thank this. -
That would be funny as hell! Next time.snowman_w900 and shogun Thank this.

Now maybe I can finally tell that West Memphis dude on CB to shut up. “This is Jay Rock. I got the real deal..”snowman_w900 Thanks this.

Watcha want watcha need? I got the good green that white smoke, the green smoke, kick it to channel 22. To which I reply “sir, if you have white smoke, it’s possibly a bad injector or a head gasket, green smoke can only be mixing blue DEF with red dye diesel”. You’re welcome.
snowman_w900 and IluvCATS Thank this. -
This news story is a crack up^Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
Larry’s CB Shop also. North of Dallas.
In the event Ray isn’t around or backed up. Or (better) because you want to look thru what’s available in CB World, in person
Larry has a HUGE selection of gear. Since 1990. Does a lot of amateur radio repair. Saturday hours.
IH30E to Greenville, TX and US-380E to McKinney. (I run this all the way to Denton with some loads out of the Carolinas).
An old house behind Winn Co Foods. See sat pic. I parked rig in front, can also squeeze into W-C lot. I’d call ahead.
See Dallas Craigslist ad 12/21
“CB Radios & Ham Radios new and used”. 18 or 19 pictures of store stock

I did what I almost never do: impulse buy. Larry has a number of Johnson’s and other old timers available. He went thru this Robyn GT from circa 1976 while I made a close delivery. Had belonged to a late customer.
I had been reminded of the Johnson my father had in his Silver Streak travel trailer, but this one caught my eye. Couldn’t resist.
I left there to park at another shipper for an o-dark-o-clock departure and hooked it up. Sounded great. A whole other type of quality. (In today’s money extrapolated from 1970s ads, $900; way beyond what I could afford then).
It’s now sitting on the dining table of my Silver Streak. Have thought up bracket mount reinforcement. And a recent Rabbi post reminded me of thru-glass antennas (so I bought one). The Campground Radio.
Make the stop. Easy to get anywhere in D/FW afterwards.
Your two new friends, Ray & Larry
Stock your wallet. Be a kid in a candy store, ha!
The Real Deal, take it to 26.
