I'm headed to Racine, WI to pick up a tractor next week. I hope the weather up that way is gonna cooperate.

I often think about the same sort of things, how tough our ancestors had to be to settle out in some of these nearly inhospitable areas with the most basic of basic tools and supplies.

    The drunk karate chopper

I was on night shift when we got a call to a fairly affluent part of the county. We pull up in front of this 10,000 square foot house and there is a drunk middle aged white man with his hand bleeding profusely on the inside palm. His wife says he cut it karate chopping a plate.

The paramedics show up and his wife explains how he is drunk and they were having a party. The paramedics try to put him on the gurney, and he fights them. Don’t put me on there, I don’t like being tied down”. They struggle with him for a minute and finally turn loose of him. He stands up wanting to fight. He’s mad and looks around saying I’ll whoop your ### if you try that again.

He then looks at me and says I’ll whoop your ### too. Never one to back down from a fight, especially with a weak older drunk, I use my de-escalating skills:D and say”you ain’t got what it takes.” Instead of bowing up, he decides I’m not one to try and looks at my coworker. “Well I’ll whoop your ### then” to which my friend responds “bring it on” with his taser already deployed and hidden.

Drunk takes about two steps before he gets lit up. After being tased he drops and passes out, at which time the paramedics load him up and strap him in the gurney. He finally comes to as they are loading him in the ambulance “I warned y’all not to put me on there.” I laughed in his face and said “yep, you really showed us”. Fool still doesn’t know what happened.

We arrested him several times since then for disorderly and DUI among other things. He is a slow learner.

I got 2 of the 3 rolling. The other doesn’t unload till Friday morning in Breckenridge, CO. Loads outa there are a joke plus she is pulling a conistoga. Prolly just deadhead her back. Got good dough going out and another ready to load here on Monday morning. No fun but, just the way it works sometimes?

The rest of the afternoon went “full on” drama. Wife is delivering mail. Finds a sucide note in the mail box and the guy removed his head with a shotgun in the driveway. What a mess!

Did get truck fully serviced and built some wire harness for the cab chicken lights. The old one is pushing 20 years old and been patched I don’t know how many times? Air conditioning fixed as well. 3AF40DAB-5FD7-43F8-832D-A168D32A45EA.jpeg

Of all the places to get stuck that’s one of the better ones.

4 loads and I would have the dirt/bricks mix cleaned up. Then there is the wood/brick trash from past owner. Now you two dont fight over it. BUT its free!
