And, of course, there’s pitiful: The Channel Five CB Shop in West Memphis.

Know a driver you dislike? Send him there. Depressing as hell just to park and walk in.

    Then it goes downhill.

I’m at Rays now. Installer checked it and it’s that box thing people mentioned that’s my problem. Simplest solution at this time and place is to run coax and bypass that box. I’m paying the installer to run new coaxial through the original route and right up to the mirror top. Single antenna now. I do feel like he knows what he’s doing. This place is busy.

I’m also buying stuff. New skipshooter antenna, and a peak + tune for my uniden. And for no reason a new Astaitic mic and a cobra external speaker. #### it. It’s like Toys r Us here.

Got a 6 foot skip shooter from Ray. Put it in and the first contact I made was from central Mississippi to Charlotte North Carolina on a Sunday afternoon. It’s the first skipshooter I’ve ever owned, and I’ve made plenty of skip contacts with it and talked 50 miles plus local.

How’s yours working now that is fixed? Ray is a good guy by the way.

It’s excellent! I’ve been non-stop doing radio checks since I left West Memphis. Everyone on the road says it’s clear and sounds good. I am so happy about Rays and my experience there today. The installation was top notch and they did it it immediately. They resolved something that’s been bothering me so bad.

They left the passenger side antenna untouched and it still gets AM-FM. My driver side is all new. New coax and new skipshooter. My SWR is 1.5 on ch.40 and 1.0 on ch.1 —not joking. My radio had been peaked and tuned. Has way more power now. I can hear everyone. I am talking loud and clear finally.

That’s normal for the skipshooter. Should be 1.2 or so on 19 which is excellent. I’m glad Ray got you hooked up, he is one of few people I trust. He moved from his old shop off the beaten path where I went 15 years ago. That Astatic is a great mike, you’ve got good taste:thumbup:

Sure did. The forecast said it was a great day for cutting Canadian duck lips smooth off.
