That cam will work fine in a truck engine........peak torque is determined by the ECM and the fuel curve programmed in it
Order the 59's a good dealer can have them in a couple of days.......there is an internal differences in the two different injectors that cutting the nozzles large will not compensate for.
3406 compatability

I stand corrected!!!!! I had pretty much ruled that cam out because of the torque question. Now have to re-consider, my favorite operating range is 1200 - 1700. Seems like most anyting over 1700 is just making more noise.

I would put pdi's stage 3 big boss on like mine with their manifold.. that cam will be good and those injectors would make some power. I would be the 58's and pdi's big tune ecm and it will make cleaner power.

dieseldiesel do u work for pdi?

had wrk done there..treated me right

What are the internal differences between these other than the nozzle holes size and spring pressure? I was under the impression it was the nozzele size, spring pressure and plunger size that controlled injector output. I can say for certain that 10R0957 and 10R0959 injectors have the same plunger size ( 10.98mm diameter ) so the only difference is the nozzle hole size and possibly the nozzle spring pressure, correct?

They have Stage 1 2 and 3 for their ecms.Do you know what horsepower they are for each stage? I know a guy with an otherwise stock 625 Acert that would be interested.

The 130-9710 will actually give you quite a bit more torque down low.9 Axle Thanks this.

There is only two part #'s different, in the different injectors I've looked up. 1) is the valve assembly, this will be inside the injector body........this will create a fuel flow restriction on the smaller injectors if you open the nozzles up to the larger sizes. The second part # difference is the nozzle, otherwise every part listed for the all the injectors I've looked up is the same. Yes if you have access to CAT SIS TMI you can look at the individual parts breakdown for the injector
I have never taken one of these injectors apart to inspect it internal, but talked with someone that has. This gentlemen told me about the fuel restriction inside of the injector between the 57 and 59Jas Thanks this. -
Has anyone played with the cam timing on a 3406E ? WOndering what the results might be.
