Hmmmm... drove for Melton, lives in Florida, sounds familiar

 

Someone is getting ready for a trip to Edmonton via Georgia.... it is a shame to have to do it but it is going to be F’n cold I think. (The Canada part - not the Georgia part)

Thanks! I appreciate that.I try to avoid 99 like the plague though, I cut over from Lost Hills to get to Shafter.

I may not be doing anything for a bit here. The security guard in Irwindale told me not to come back until I get a permanent drivers license, she doesn't think my hand written temporary is real. Seeing as I'm in the TSA background check process for hazmat and TWIC it could be a few weeks.

The closer I get ready to go trailer shopping, the more I look at how tight things are. While I've had 53' boxes in here, it's really tight, and if there's snow, I can forget about jacking the hard blindside uphill to get turned around, so these oaks had to go.



I could never do what these crazy guys did and in fact had a few butt puckers just watching them from the ground.



I had them leave me something to push on the smaller one so that I can hopefully get the root ball out without making too big of a mess.



I thought the big white oak was going to be hollow for sure, since there was a family of flying squirrels living in it, but it gave me a nice clear 14' x 40" log. Hopefully I can recoup some of the well deserved money these guys cost and get a fancier seat?
