Sweet. You must like it then Six. Do they really perform that well?

Here's my thinking... I have a soon to be 17 yr old daughter. She doesn't like to shoot. Nothing against guns, she's just not into them and isn't proficient. My son will be 18 next year and graduating. He moves out and she will be home by herself quite a bit.

So, with a couple of these around, all she's gotta do if necessary is point and boom. Haven't had a chance to try one cause they just became legal in OH a couple weeks ago.

Boil, with the item being boiled in a separate sealed package, ie vacuum packed/zip locked & submerged. One of our girls was furious and quit our game of Outburst last week on vacation bc I didn’t allow sous-vide as an approved answer.

My brother inlaw that is a chef bought one and did steaks, then put them on grill to finish. I will never tell him, because his food is out of this world. I was less then impressed. Might as well just grill it.

I find it's best for really thick cuts of meat.

It cooks below boiling, it cooks at whatever temp you want to finish at. You can cook tough cuts without drying out.

I don’t want it for steak, I’ll stick up my methods for those.

Well i didnt clarify it was hand cut Fillets very thick. I get the Idea but I dont like applying commercial fast restuarant style cooking at home. I will slow cook them over a wood fire and be just happy.

If I knew how to cook my own good eats i be fat as hell. The only advantage to having to beg for every bite you get is my slender youthful physique

It can be below boiling. Or not. The items sealed in the separate packaging stay moist because they are sealed and therefore none of the moisture gets out. Could run that ##### at a full rolling boil if one so desired.
I like things hot and moist. I’m down with sous-vide :)
