Snoqualmie Pass Shut Down

I hate going over that pass in the winter, and I live in Oregon. It's so dangerous. It just creeps me out seeing those big trucks in a tangled mess. I hope they all survived.

 

There was a least 1 fatality reported in the article... don't know if it was a four wheeler or truck driver. Tragic nonetheless.

 

Geez...Ran outta drive time in "Ellensturd" and went thru there this morning (Saturday)...kinda sketchy...27° rain soaked road,dark,foggy and icy? Hard to tell.

 

The "internet" will Lie...oh yeah 36°...Get over there its 27°. Some difference on temp?Some windy possible slick spots?

 

22,000 gallons of hazardous material? That's a big Tanker. I guess nobody proof read that news report.

And whats Strange...Seems like ...After the Pass...Cle Elum stretch...is Worse than the Pass itself.

 

Their 511 is terrible too. Last time it said the same thing, mid 30's, slick spots, and an inch of snow on the side of the road.

I get up there, it's 23, snowing like 47 mofo's, chains, 35 mph for 100 miles. Snowing so hard can barely see. Like 4 big trucks off the road.

 

And the hell of it is, I think these false reporting stations are what the boys back in the big office in Olympia are using to assign work schedules. Morons, each and every one of them.

And then they scratch their head and ask “WTH. Why are we always playing catch up?” They don’t seem to work with qualified meteorologists. I think they use a Magic 8 Ball to determine how they will manage the road cleanup process.
