Without knowing the specifics of the trailer, and assuming it is a non ground bearing hydraulic rgn the basics are:

Try to always detach on level ground.

Have tractor and trailer straight with each other before unhooking, and re-hook at same angle.

Dump suspension air, or at least wait until suspension balances before unhooking. Personally I always dump the trailer as well.

I adjust the neck angle to be free, and then lower neck support arm and lift the neck just enough to be off of trailer.

Things that will happen.......eventually.......hopefully only once.:

You will forget to unhook the air/electric lines between deck and neck.

You will forget to raise the support arm before driving off.

Beyond this @johndeere4020 has a lot of experience with a variety of trailer brands, perhaps he can add more helpful hints.

Probably the best tip is to developed a routine that works, and stick with it.

You lost me there? I know pics will help so ill get some. Being on a skinny un-even dirt road probably didn't help. I know the biggest thing is not to rush.

Edit: routine is what I'm working on. There's no shortage of reading material on here. Didn't expect to be pulling a low boy but an opportunity came up. I'd rather learn this aspect than go round and round hauling water.

    Thanks ox

If it is a talbert dump the air off of the truck and trailer. The lock pin tends to give less problems that way. Sometimes you just need to raise and lower the trailer to get everything to line up just right. Only other pointer is try to get as level as you can.
