Are you testing on a manual or automatic truck? If it's a manual make sure you double clutch and demonstrate that you can down shift. You cannot make a mistake on that air brake test.

An "annual" inspection is just that.....meaning "every year"...I dont really think Ive seen "bi- annual" .....VinnyVincent Thanks this.

It's a 10 speed. Some of the senior drivers gave me a hard time, but I exclusively practiced only with double clutching so I would be in the habit for the exam.
I should be good to go, as long as this trailer issue ends up working out okay. -
Yeah it seems too strange to me to take the risk. I'm going to take the 2019 registration rust bucket and pray they don't look too closely at the shock absorber on the trailer axle to see the crack on the upper half. There's a 1/3 chance they won't even inspect the trailer depending on what card I draw.

Hes not going to issue tickets.....he will require a trailer to be legally registered though......roadworthy enough to roll down the road without falling apart.....but legally registered and inspected for sure.....remember, you are simply demonstrating your ability at what items to check , and the more you verbally mention, the better.....but when it comes to the brake test, you will have to mention AND PERFORM ......do not stop talking and pointing during the whole pre- trip.....start by taking overall look of truck .....for leaks and leaning .....then zoom in on the left( drivers side) engine compartment, remembering steering linkage, all hoses, belts, brake parts, suspension parts, fluids, etc....as you are satisfied youve completed on part, dont move away too fast as there is stuff very near to the compartment you just finished.....like tires( outside) lugs etc. Mirrors, go down side fuel tanks.......airhoses, lines then next set of suspension , tires .....etc ......I swear , say everything as you come to it......its really a matter of him hearing you SAY it.......and pointing .......he will check off everything......use the language you learned .....i.e " bruises, cuts and abrasions" for tires - remember the tread depth for each type of tire.......and MAKE SURE TO MENTION IT .....offer up every spec of knowledge and facts you know ....before he asks.......if he even does ( i doubt it) .......sometimes the examiner will request that you do not perform any of the in - cab checklist until after the outside is completed.....dont forget horns wipers and heater......and most important EMERGENCY gear.......then, lastly will most likely be starting engine and brake test .....when u start engine , STARE at guages! And announce that oil pressure is increased, and both air guages on way up......Good Luck ! Youll be perfect!VinnyVincent Thanks this.

once you roll, if you get a road test, dont move truck without SEATBELT ON ! and His on too....dont roll an inch! Even on the rolling part of braketest!
VinnyVincent Thanks this. -
After the brake tests before rolling be sure both air gauges are over 90psi might try and make you slip up by saying let's go

I hope you never get the loads to a 1920's era produce cold storage such as Kroger near downtown Roanoke.
