That’s cool. Definitely sounds like a plan. I’m taking online courses to finish up my 2 year degree. Should be done by summer. Like we talked about, I’m going to stay in the industry, but get out of the truck. Also, in the process of taking the Florida Real estate Real estate license. I had it years ago in Illinois. Thinking about doing that on the side down here. It’s getting close to that time for getting out of the truck for good.

Did you have any problems from the hurricane?
-
Nope. Not directly. Next week was bike week in PCB and it’s canceled. So we canceled our condo. Just had a little street flooding as the storm went by us
Tanker_82 Thanks this. -
bigcat1124 what the heck is going on with your elections down there? Lol
bigcat1124 Thanks this. -
Dude, it’s Florida. They always have election issues. It’s a joke. Isn’t that hard, but I believe $$$ has something to do with it!
motocross25 and Tanker_82 Thank this. -
I was glad to see Ron DeSantis won (or at least it appears that way). I don’t really have a dog in that fight since I’m a Texan, but they say his opponent would have been a threat to the no state income tax down there. I also didn’t want to see corporations get taxed more since that is where the company is based. I’d rather them have the money to keep buying new trucks and giving pay raises. Lol.
bigcat1124, ira1377 and motocross25 Thank this. -
It’s confirmed. He won. Politics are so messed up in Florida, but I’m glad he won. I’m stuck in Pennsylvania in this storm. Forgot how much fun this part of the country was in the winter time. Lol
Tanker_82 Thanks this. -
I heard earlier on XM radio news. The Senate race has to go to a hand recount though.
I’m still running close to home. After the holidays I may go back OTR. I still haven’t decided yet. It’s been nice being home every other day and I’m getting about the same miles, but part of me secretly misses being up in the Northwest. Especially this time of year when everything is covered in snow and the scenery is nice. -
Yesterday was my 2 year anniversary with IRT. Still no complaints, still the best driving job I’ve had by far. I haven’t logged on here in awhile and will try to catch up on the questions/pm’s later tonight.
socal, Rugerfan, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hey Tanker_82, hope everything is still going well with you at IRT. Yesterday was my last day on the road. I was planning on two more months, but one last winter storm and a 50 hr delay at a customer changed my mind. It was time. Still taking my courses, and I took a job at the Harley dealership where I bought my bike as a service advisor. Will be nice not leaving Florida anymore during this time of the year...lol
