For drivers just starting out, and needing to be home weekly, you might want to rethink getting into this buisness. Most places require you to stay out a few weeks before getting you home. Maybe start applying at local equipment hauling companies like Sunbelt, or Volvo????

Getting a guy home in a tough market, such as Arizona, is what makes it hard for them also. If you lived east of I-35 or in the Midwest, i bet they could get you home every week. i know a few drivers for Maverick that live near me that are home every single weekend.

Your post is 6 years old but I was curious to learn how things are going for you. I too, live in Oro Valley and have yet to even earn my CDL. I'm researching options before taking the plunge. Flatbed is likely too physical for me. I am a 50 year old female and love my solitude. I was considering solo, no touch freight and would like to be home nightly but I also know that I can't be too picky for at least a good 1-2 years. I hope you get this.
