Are all the leases 5 years, or are there shorter ones? I would be REALLY happy with a 3-4 year lease and pay the truck off early if allowed to. I know it would be an older truck, but with that extra money in the pocket, it would make life a whole bunch easier.

This is a question for JCTwife. Looks like your hubby is getting pretty good miles (3500) a week.Is this the norm for solo drivers ???When everyone else is sitting is JCT trucking giving you consistent miles???

LMB, are you required to fund a maintenance escrow? If so, how much? Also, are you allowed to pay off the lease early?
Thanks for all the great info given so far! -
Hi 38short,
Sorry I didn't answer sooner. But yes this is the norm for solos. And yes that's what we get a week. I also totally agree a 1000% with LMB. If you're not getting at 3000 miles a week it is your fault. JCT is more than willing to give you the miles but it's up to you to take them. The thing I have seen with JCT is that some of these drivers are what we call truck stop sitters waiting on the large mile loads. Well these are the ones who aren't making the money because while they're sitting at the truck stop waiting on the big load you're wheels aren't turning and therefore no money coming in. Take the small loads with the big loads cause your main objective is to keep the wheels rolling to get the miles. And another thing I have seen with some of these JCT drivers is they love the casinos. I have actually heard my husband's DM tell us in one day 2 of his drivers were late to an appt because they were too busy gambling. So don't sit at truck stops and don't hit the casinos or if you do just make sure it's on YOUR 10 hr shutdown. As soon as you have your bills signed and are empty put in your MAC 10 so you can get another preplan. Hope that helped.

Why are you taking all this time off? You just started in November, then you took 4 days off, your wife took a week off before joining you, and now your going to take another two weeks off in July. Must be nice. The only time my husband and I take off is for our 34 hour restarts and we been with JCT for a year.
