Wrong ! Ford bought the car division , not the truck division . But they are trying to sell it to the Chinese . http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/26/ford-to-seek-volvo-buyer-next-month/
They already sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata in India .

You're not one of those guys that thinks Ford owns Cummins too , are you ?

I would love to know what "repairs under warranty work" they could have submitted to cause a truck manufacturer to not want to sell trucks to the largest trucking company out there, especially with the economy in the shape it is in now. The benefit of sales would sorely outweigh the cost of any said repairs they could have allegedly submitted them for.

Consequently, the newest trucks I have seen that they have purchased have been Freightliners.

Volvo cars is owned by Ford, the Volvo truck division is not, Swift has purchased plenty of Freightliners in the last year, Cascadia's, Columbia's and Daycabs.

A few years back, freightliner was voiding the warrenties on the turbo's because with the speed that swift was governed at and the rpms the engine was being forced to run at due to the gearing, all the turbos were burning up, that was when Swift started increasing the speed of their trucks to like 62 mph, but that did not last long

Heh, interesting. ;) Luckily, today I picked up a team driver, so I'll be having my truck adjusted accordingly very soon.

SWIFT had the contract to deliver New VOLVO TRUCKS in North America ( part of the reason SWIFT bought VOLVO's ) , no longer have it.

You gotta be kidding! That would mean the mechanics had to be bright enough to figure out how to abuse the system! Lies, Lies I tell you! How many mechanics does it take to change a tire? Don't know.. Call road service after it blows..
