Steering wheel holders, same ones who have destroyed the narrow cab truck and external air cleaners in the name of comfort and efficiency.

My first few years we did it that way. Drove as far as you felt and stopped when needed. Keep a line drawn for the DOT man to look at and figure out the rest when you got there. Then it got to be a bit risky running like that with them tracking your plate from scale to scale.

We could still take 'em if it came down to it LOL.

And just cause I have a new plastic truck don't be fooled about which side I'd be on.

So my first job on log books was driving wrecker. Most of it on time cards and exempt for weather and others. But of you were transporting across state line, not handling a accident you had to run a logbook. We responded to accidents in other states too. But if you were going on a long haul you just grabbed a new log book. Put down 7 days vacation and went.

That's it right there!! If you were that worried about your job that you couldn't say NO and take a nap when you were tired then A) you probably weren't worth much to begin with or B) you were working for the wrong company!
