You said that hos are government overreach because it’s not in the constitution. All I’m trying to do is point out how weak that argument is because the same thing could be said about all regulations covering all businesses across the board. So it leads me to believe that you don’t like the rules affecting you but you probably like a fair amount of the rules that govern how other businesses have to operate.

I bet the greedy truckstop owners don’t like the pesky weights and measures officer testing their pumps to make sure a gallon is a gallon. I doubt fuel sales are covered in the constitution. But I sure like knowing that I’m buying a gallon of gas or diesel, you probably do also.

The Supreme Court said OOIDA’s “constitutional” argument about eld’s didn’t hold water, the sooner people stop bringing up the constitution when it comes to a federally regulated industry the better off we’ll be.

I just don't understand all the hate towards one segment off the industry without data to support cattle haulers are unsafe. It's all about the data right? You guys haven't even started on the chicken trucks yet. Lol. I'm asking for one peice of data that shows cattle haulers are less safe than a typical Walmart truck. Last I checked a Walmart truck with all the current Bell and whistles was the last one to mow down a entire comedy club making ALL of us poster children.
Exemptions are part of policy. Overwhelming all encompassing rules don't always work, it's why we have exemptions.

Actually no that truck did not have any of the bells and whistles. The accident was a direct result of the decisions of that driver. He paid with his career, his freedom, and his reputation. But nice try obfuscating the discussion.

Check the amount or rollovers, the rear end collisions of bullhaulers. Numbers are pretty staggering.

Still has zero to do with the fact that there is no logical reason for any of these exemptions.

Where’s a link to accident info that’s broken down by type of cargo hauled?

And I feel I’ve given plenty of common sense reasons, you’ve just chosen to ignore them.

Reasons bullhaulers need some special ag for the first 150 and the 30 minute break maybe.

What is the reason they should not be on ELD's?

The by cargo stuff is just looking through headlines. To my knowledge there is no data base of trailer type accidents.

No. Walmart hired him from Ga to work out of Smyrna, De. Not trying to confuse a thing. Walmart is every bit as much to blame as him.

All I asked for was data to back up your claim. You don't have any. As usual you just talk, but hey I guess that's what the interweb is for right?

Truck driver killed in U.S. 220 crash
Driver, cattle killed in crash on I-84; cows get loose, closing 100 miles of interstate

Overturned cattle trailer blocks Western Kentucky Parkway

I-10 cattle truck crash: Driver severely injured, 32 cows dead

Hell that is two more dead than the Tracy Morgan deal and all I did was 10 seconds on google.

I like where your head's at but it's always easier to go after the smaller group in a disagreement. There are more cars on the road than trucks, let's regulate the trucks, the problem is solved. if it only worked that way.

you can prove any point by showing an edited version of the research. I don't know that this is what Mr Williams did but I suspect. all the research on a subject might show things differently.

I'm all about blaming the trucking companies but when it comes to the decision of "should I be driving?", you have to put that on the driver. if he was out of hours or tired or just not feeling it (whatever the reason) he should have stopped. if he didn't he is at fault, regardless of accidents or citations. driver was wrong.
