Is landstar only for O/O or do they have company drivers as well.

O/O only. Some O/O's have small fleets that run their freight, but Landstar itself has no company drivers.

look into 1pissedoffdriver comments on landstar..much of what he says is true about landstar...you get a lot of freedom but it can cost you if you run like a company driver...I AGREE WITH Gazoo NOT NOW ,YOU WILL FAIL.
I have been with them for 6months and have run any which way you can think of and the numbers do not get into the black...i agree with broncrider they take to large a chunk for what they do as a so called "TRUCKING COMPANY" landstar is not, i repeat not a trucking company.

BTW. if you don't have easy access to reload MS Office, go to Open Office and download it for free. It does Excel, Word and Access. Just google it.. I have Vista and had Win2000 and have never bought Office, always used Openoffice..

I am looking into LandStar as well and I have heard that they have been slowing down but at a slower rate then everyone else.

I would like to know if LandStar dose a lease purchase?

How would I find owner's that are looking for driver's?

I would like a copy of the Break down.

We been at landstar almost 5 years and yes it is very very slow here. The loads that are on the board are dirt cheap. i would not even think about buying or leasing a truck right now in this economy.

i agree with jacks chick. i have only been wit landstar 3 months, and have been watching the rates for about 9 months. it has slowed down alot. I would not get in this busniess right now. I myself am thinking bout hanging up my spurs. I only have 37 dollars to my name and my belt just broke an hour ago. i gotta get an advance just to cover this. oh and its a sunday, so my choices for repairs are limited. i am bout to scream.
