No one cuts rates in the summer?

There are fewer loads moving around in winter time (generally) - so in effect capacity goes way up - and rates fall. It happens every year and the brokers tend to push their advantage to or past the limit of reason.

That is the point - as I work load to load it is a pain in the ### for me.

 

Yes and no...... with a wide or tall load they can be challenging at times. Still beat throwing rags to a certain degree. I myself prefer sidekit to tarps, but this conestoga will spoil you. Sidekit will limit your load width some as well, but I have hauled steel with only 4” clearance on each side.

Six is completely right. One thing he didn’t touch on is, your company has a contract with Boeing. This product has to be there no if,ands, or buts. Also it is more than likely an exclusive use contract. They cannot load anything else without breaching the contract. I would a whole lot rather haul one box than ride around making multiple pick ups.

 

January and feb has always been slow for me too! Last year was better than most, this one seems to be back to normal. Or I just forgot what last year was like. This right now is more about lack of freight than cheap drivers. Not that they ain’t hauling cheap. There just isn’t enough loads to go around. So the only ones moving are the cheap guys. This to shall pass.
