Hey guys. Had a few questions as im new in the bussines. Been working for a company for one year and I just recently bought my own truck and trailer with my own authority and DOT. I been searching on the apps online for loads but HELL they pay super low like 1.60pm 1.34pm. That just seems way to low to even move the #### thing. What would be a decent rate to ask for pm as an op...

How do you know if a 1.34-1.60 is low if you have to ask how much you should be charging

What kind of freight coming out of where ?

I see Jax, Florida under your avatar.....If you are hauling say produce out of Florida I wouldn't expect much more than $2.00 a mile if you are using a broker..Direct obviously would be a little higher or I hope it would.
I'm just using Florida as an example we don't run down there anymore because everything is so cheap unless you have a really good contact......and we did not !!

Bad timing to buy a truck. Rates are in the toilet now. You missed the boat.

It's just the downward point on the roller coaster that is Trucking. At least he will have a few months to get all the retarded startup crap out of the way and we will be back on the incline for a few months... and then back down... and then back up...

The problem for us o/o’s is there is always someone more hungry than you. Sure, there are groups of steering wheel holders who will take the $1.60 runs.

However, you get what you pay for and I’m comfortable saying any money you save on the rate, you will lose in damage claims and missed deliveries.
