Galaxy DX33HML needs some love

I think reviving an old radio is like reviving an old car. You don't do it to save money. You do it for the prestige. If it cost 100,000 to restore a 69 Challenger and a new one can be bought for 50 of course buying new makes sense. But you still won't have that cool old '69 challenger. It depends on what your goal is.

The two best Technician’s I’ve found are DTB in Carlisle PA and Lou’s Electronics in West Bridgewater MA. Very few qualified techs left. I found out the hard way. I had Don in Erie PA tune my Galaxy 98 since he is a Galaxy warranty repair shop. He turned it into a total splatterbox. Lou’s in West Bridgewater MA turned it into a radio that sounds like a base station. Dave at DTB is good as well.

It looks like we have a shill account right here. Somebody masquerading as somebody that they are not. Accurate information though

 

He didn't work quite that cheap!

 

I was kind of exaggerating but not by much. I don't recall ever getting charged more than 40 bucks for anything he ever did for me. Even if it took him a month.

 

That's sounds about normal for one that was a wreck. More if he had to put a meter, faceplate or knobs on it. I miss him......not because of his trade, he was a good friend.
