Day 5 of bad rates, day 4 of sick wife and kid. It was good I could stay home and I don't haul cheap. But Monday the rig is going out, even if its just to drive someplace and sleep. Apportioned Plates keep passing thru my mind!

Got to witness something cool last night, one of those things you see on a newscast.
My son is in 7th grade and plays basketball and just to set the scene I'll say the team we played last night was from an all black school and they were a lot taller and faster than we were and we pretty much got ran off of the floor. The game was in a Jr. High gym, smallish with stands only on one side.
During the game I noticed the other team kept feeding one of their players in particular the ball so he could shoot, really tall lanky kid. He kept missing, shooting way too high and hitting the backboard supports or too short, and was getting really frustrated. I just figured he was a bench player because the other coach was playing his bench a lot since they were beating us so bad. The kid would shoot and miss and the crowd would be so disappointed when he missed, just cheering really loud the whole game.
Toward the end of the game our players were intentionally getting the ball back to the other team so they could get it to this player, I still didn't know what was going on at this point. Well, just before the last second ticked off the clock at the end of the game this kid hits a buzzer beater and makes a basket and the crowd just erupted and rushed the floor like he had just won them the National Championship. It was a mob scene out on the court. The girls team had stayed to watch the game and players that were playing after us were there along with parents and students, it was just crazy, I wish I would have thought to take a picture.
Come to find out the player was Autistic and our players were in on it too towards the end of the game.
Stuff like this makes me think maybe there is hope for us after all.dwells40, blairandgretchen, Al. Roper and 29 others Thank this. -
That is the definition of Sportsmanship in my mind @Bear135 , and the importance of "it's not whether you win or loose, but how you play the game".
Unfortunately in life, it is a bit more about whether you win or loose. Hopefully how one plays the game still enters into most folk's minds during life's decisions.
Kudo's to your son. I'll bet he remembers last night for the rest of his life!blairandgretchen, Al. Roper, IH Truck Guy and 20 others Thank this. -
Sounds like America to me @Bear135! Like I mentioned a week or so ago teach your Loved ones to keep their eyes open, particularly at Stop Lights, this new World fashionable way of running red lights is getting out of hand! I know it’s just one of a zillion issues to deal with today! Done with rant I’ll go back to procuring more weapons like @TripleSix and be better prepared! I’ll call it the Stupiapocalypse that’s upon us!blairandgretchen, Al. Roper, Slowpoke KW and 12 others Thank this.

Thanks gentlemen! @Oxbow I guess I'm just lucky sometimes. They are talking several chances of snow next week so I'm probably doomed.

Well I made the decision when I was just ten miles past the house to go ahead and come down to a brokedown mill thinking they'd have it fixed before long.
Wellll.. ....they finally got it going about a hour ago as I set here and watch the road map go from clear to completely covered. Still have three trucks in front of me.
Gonna be a fun ride home....we're supposed to get up to twelve inches.blairandgretchen, Al. Roper, Slowpoke KW and 18 others Thank this.
