Just thought I'd give a update of my Experience being hired off the street as a seasonal Feeder Driver. For one UPS never used any of the seasonal drivers or should I say wanted too. I had to basically show up and ask for work and being that I had no other job going for myself at the time. After 12/25 they basically told me not to show up bc peak had ended. I think I did great job bc when it got close to the end of the week during peak dispatch would only ask a few guys to work on Saturday and they'd as me. I think it was bc I never bugged them or ask for directions or didn't know what to do. One thing that kept me doing a great job was the awesome feeder drivers I met during my time working. I can certainly say that I expected nothing but ugly faces and horrible remarks bc I was a some what of a "scab/contractor" It was nothing close to that! Drivers were awesome to say the least. Now I have I'm in a position of 2 backgrounds for 2 other Great Jobs. USPS, and ABF. Soon I will need to make a decision based on time off and pay. With 16 years safe driving I knew I had options but it was worth taking a chance on UPS due to it being one of the best out there! No regrets and I gave it my best shot!
