I lived beyond Hope...………….

There used to be a restaurant right on the water (lake Pend Oreille) in Hope called the Lighthouse, which made their own salad dressings. The salad dressings were so popular (Lighthouse Salad Dressing) that they began to just sell salad dressing and closed the restaurant down. They opened there plant in nearby Sandpoint and I believe they are still there.

 

@Bear135 Beans was the big thing this year, and Tony’s moms homemade cobbler.... oh my!! Some folks like to sit and swap lies while cracking walnuts too.

 

I buy Litehouse salad dressing usually, interesting hearing the history

I agree, and I like older trucks, but I'm not sure about going back to no A/C and Armstrong steering. I had an 83 359 without power steering. I miss the truck, but not that aspect of it. At the time some guys would say that you just don't get the same "feel of the road" with power steering. My left elbow agrees, because it felt every bump in the road and the subsequent bump from the steering wheel!

 

I'll 2nd that, used to dread the occasional Chipped Beef Meal as a Kid

 

Thanks for correcting the spelling of it! I like it as well. They used to have a Roquefort dressing that was wonderful, but I haven't seen it for a long time.
