Ever notice that people will have threads about powering video games inside trucks, what’s the best GPS, what’s the best schools and or company for rookies. What to do during your 34,...etc.?

Everything but the job. Why no questions about the job? Because in their minds, “it’s JUST driving.” That’s the fatal mistake. They haven’t even signed up for school, but they already know everything they need to know, because it’s just driving.

When I was younger, I laughed when I heard NASCAR drivers being called athletes. “There not doing anything...it’s just driving. What’s so hard about that?” Got into sports car racing. Running around a track, no problem. Running fast around the track. Difficult. Running consistent fast laps is mind shattering stressful. But it’s just driving, right?

“You can train a monkey to drive a truck.” That’s what even some of the drivers think. So, I asked the kid if he wanted to be average or did he want to be on the top of the pile. I wouldn’t even get out of bed to be average.

In @Six’s first sentence I missed the part about got shutdown. I dodged a bullet there by getting out early. The good responses were wasted time in an effort to educate.

I have it as well. As SAR said it does not allow full access, but it sure is handy for me to be able to look up a part, see the drawings of how everything goes together, and be able to order and choose to pick up at the store or have it delivered to my house. Much easier than trying to describe what I need over the phone with the parts guys.

It was especially helpful for me to figure out which spring goes where on the air/fuel ratio on my old B Model.

You ever just watch a movie scene over and over again. I do it because in a really good movie, ALL the characters are interesting. I don’t believe I’ve been to the movies in 15 years.

You know he’s still alive???? Had to research him because I was thinking that he had to be 110. After all, Cocoon came out 40 years ago, and he was playing a geriatric. Well, apparently he was a lot younger guy playing a much older person.
